ASTM F543: Standard Speciﬁcation and Test Methods for Metallic Medical Bone Screws

This specification provides requirements and test methods for orthodontic anchor screws used in orthodontic treatment.

Two static tests are described to determine the torsional performance of orthodontic anchor screws. Both tests are performed per ASTM F543 to measure fracture torque and insertion torque. At least five samples should be tested in each test configuration.

The correct selection of the artificial bone material is substantial to achieve meaningful results for the insertion torque. Our experts will be happy to help you with the selection and procurement of the synthetic bone.
