ASTM F2723: Standard Test Method for Evaluating Mobile Bearing Knee Tibial Baseplate/Bearing Resistance to Dynamic Disassociation

This test method evaluates the potential for mobile bearing knee tibial baseplate/bearing disassociation under repeated forces.
The test applies to any bicompartmental mobile bearing knee with a bearing retention mechanism. The test can be modified to serve a unicompartmental mobile bearing knee with a bearing retention mechanism.
The implant is tested at the worst-case flexion angle regarding the shear and/or bearing forces on the retention mechanism.
