EndoLab^® uses a custom made wear simulator for testing of proximal interphalangeal (PIP) and metacarpophalangeal (MCP) artificial joint replacements. The movement is reduced to one axis, whereby a constant axial force is applied. A typical wear test is performed up to five million cycles using three to six implants at 1.5 Hz test frequency.
