Finger joint wear test

Normative References

EndoLab® uses a custom made wear simulator for testing of proximal interphalangeal (PIP) and metacarpophalangeal (MCP) artificial joint replacements. The movement is reduced to one axis, whereby a constant axial force is applied. A typical wear test is performed up to five million cycles using three to six implants at 1.5 Hz test frequency.

There are no international standards for finger wear testing. The wear test for finger joints above is only available at EndoLab.
