ISO 25539-2:2012: Cardiovascular implants — Endovascular devices — Part 2: Vascular stents

The local compression test determines the deformation of the device in response to a localized compressive force and whether the stent recovers its original geometry after testing. Using a probe, the load is applied perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the device, and the load versus displacement curve is recorded. This test has been withdrawn and is no longer included in the updated standard.
