According to ASTM\u00a0F2582 all UHMWPE acetabular components have to be artificially aged prior to testing (<a href=\"https:\/\/endolab.org\/de\/implant-testing.asp\/?cat1=10&amp;id=169&amp;tab=7\">see ASTM\u00a0F2003<\/a>). All three in-vivo angular displacements (flexion\/extension, abduction\/adduction and internal\/external rotation) are simulated and a constant joint reaction force is applied.
